European defense stocks retreat after Trump tones down Greenland rhetoric

Europe's defense stocks are broadly retreating, going against the grain, after US President Donald Trump toned down his rhetoric about Greenland on Wednesday.

On the Stockholm Stock Exchange, defense group Saab is down 2.9 percent, while sector peer Mildef is down 1.7 percent.

In Germany, defense giant Rheinmetall is down 2.4 percent while Italian Leonardo is down 2.2 percent.
