Talent Olivia Klint Ipsa snatched the bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke at the European Championship in Belgrade. This is the 19-year-old Swede's first medal in a major championship.
Klint Ipsa started the final cautiously and was outside the medal positions at the turn, but thanks to an extremely strong finish and final sprint, she managed to overtake Poland's Dominika Sztandera and take the bronze by the narrowest of margins.
The race itself wasn't that good, I was lucky to come third. But I'm not satisfied with the race. I wasn't focused, more stressed. I was far behind the one to my left, then I got stressed. So it wasn't good, says Klint Ipsa to SVT.
However, Klint Ipsa's time of 1:07.73 was not enough to qualify for the Olympics.
Estonian Eneli Jefimova won the gold ahead of Lisa Mamie from Switzerland.
