Despite the war in Gaza and the country's increased isolation as a result, Israel's export of defense materials has hit a record for the fourth year in a row, Bloomberg reports. Over five years, sales have more than doubled to 14.8 billion dollars. Slightly more than half of the exports go to countries in Europe.

NATO has asked its European member countries to expand their ground-based air defense to be able to respond to aggressions from Russia. Exactly that type of weapon system accounted for almost half of Israel's military export in 2024.

The Israeli manufacturers are also meeting high demand at home. Among other things, the war against Hamas and the conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon led to the country spending 47 billion dollars on defense last year, an increase of 65 percent.
