"Surprise bills or higher fees when traveling abroad are something we no longer have in the EU. Today we propose to extend them to the Western Balkans," writes Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos in a press release.
The hope is that the free roaming introduced in the EU almost ten years ago will now be extended to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. The Commission therefore wants the EU Council of Ministers to agree to start negotiations with the countries concerned.
