–We welcome President Trump's announcement to send more weapons to Ukraine, but we would like the US to share the burden, says Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas at the press conference afterwards.
–If we pay for these weapons, then it's our support, European support. We're doing as much as we can to support Ukraine and the appeal is for everyone to do the same. If you promise to give weapons, but say someone else should pay for them, then it's not directly given by you, is it? continues Kallas.
It was on Monday that Donald Trump announced that American weapons "of the highest class" will be sent to Ukraine. The American president also threatened Russia with new sanctions if no peace agreement is in place within 50 days.
The bill for the weapons, however, is to be paid by Europe.
