The trade surplus in goods landed during the month at 23.6 billion euro, equivalent to 260 billion kronor. During the same month last year, the surplus was 14.8 billion euro. Exports grew by 22 percent, while imports only increased by just over two percent.

The fact that the USA has a trade deficit in goods trade with the EU has irritated the USA's President Donald Trump, who has introduced tariffs.

At the same time, the EU's trade deficit with China increased, from 21 billion euro to 26 billion euro.

Overall, the EU had a trade surplus in goods with the rest of the world of 23 billion euro in February, up from 21.8 billion euro a year earlier.
