On Thursday, 29 of 38 members voted yes in two formal votes on different parts of the package.

This involves removing tariffs on industrial products, opening tariff-free access for seafood and certain agricultural products, and extending duty-free access to various types of lobster.

The deal, which was reached in a meeting between US President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland this summer, effectively means a 15 percent import tariff on the majority of EU goods imported into the US, including cars.

The entire parliament will now also vote on the issue, probably as early as next week.
