European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announces that the Union will provide the equivalent of just over eight billion kronor in support to help people affected by various crises.
"Conflicts, extreme weather and rising living costs are shaking up the lives of many around the world," von der Leyen said in a press release .
The largest share of the money goes to African regions. The Palestinian territories, Lebanon and Ukraine will also receive some of the money.
