According to information provided to news sites including Politico Europe and Euractiv, the 21 individuals are proposed to be added to a list linked to human rights abuses. The 10 companies and organizations will in turn be placed on the sanctions list for their manufacturing and development of drones.
The hope is to agree on the sanctions in time for the next meeting of EU foreign ministers on January 29.
Sanctions in the form of frozen assets, a ban on entry to the EU and a ban on doing business with the EU already apply to 230 people in Iran and around 40 companies and organizations.
