The EU has summoned Russia's envoy in Brussels to protest after an EU diplomat was attacked in Vladivostok in easternmost Russia.
"We condemn every attack on EU diplomats. They must be able to carry out their tasks without fear or threat", announces Anita Hipper, spokesperson for the EU Commission, according to the news agency AP.
According to the German newspaper Der Spiegel, it was on May 26 that a Romanian EU employee was threatened and beaten by two men who are suspected of working for the Russian security service.
