The list is being expanded by a total of 10 people and 17 companies or organizations. Among them is the leader of the oil-rich Russian republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnichanov, who is accused of facilitating the abduction of children to camps in his region.
At the same time, several regional ministers and school leaders in other regions are accused of contributing to "ideological indoctrination," according to a press release from the EU Council of Ministers.
In parallel, another of the EU's sanctions lists is being expanded with ten people accused of contributing to undermining democracy and the rule of law in Russia.
