The airspace over Lithuania has recently been repeatedly disrupted by smuggling balloons sent over from Belarus.
The EU now hopes to eliminate this by making it possible to impose sanctions against individuals and organizations in Belarus that are considered to contribute to undermining or threatening democracy, the rule of law, stability or security in the EU and its member states.
