Even the EU countries – including Sweden – are now reintroducing the sanctions against Iran that were frozen in connection with the nuclear energy agreement (JCPOA) in 2015.

The sanctions consist partly of entry bans and frozen assets for a number of individual persons, companies and organizations, partly of a number of different trade and transport measures. For example, it will be prohibited to import or transport Iranian crude oil, natural gas, petrol and other similar products.

The sanctions are being reintroduced as a result of the UN sanctions coming into force again, after Iran has been accused of not living up to the JCPOA.
