In any case, the EU Commission is proposing the introduction of a new category for companies with between 250 and 750 employees and with a turnover of up to approximately 1.5 billion kronor per year.
These companies – estimated to be around 38,000 in total in the EU – have otherwise been counted in the same category as the EU's largest companies.
"By cutting bureaucracy and simplifying rules, companies are given the freedom to renew, grow and create more jobs", writes Industry Commissioner Stéphane Séjourné in a press release.
At the same time, the Commission is presenting a new strategy for the internal market, where they are promising new rules, among other things, in the construction and postal and parcel sectors.
