The EU is once again calling for negotiations in the Middle East conflict.
The EU strongly regrets the fact that hostilities have resumed in Gaza and reports of civilian casualties, including children, in Israeli air strikes, says Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anouar El Anouni at a press briefing in Brussels.
We want Hamas to release all hostages and we urge Israel to show restraint and once again open up for free humanitarian access to Gaza. We believe that negotiations are the only way to reach a solution. Israelis and Palestinians have suffered enormously over the past year. It's high time to break the cycle of violence, says El Anouni.
