Former Bulgarian politician and UN diplomat Nickolaj Mladenov, who has been selected by US President Donald Trump to lead the so-called Peace Council, will meet with EU foreign affairs chief, Kaja Kallas, and the foreign ministers of all 27 member states.
During the meeting, discussions are also expected about the war in Ukraine and new sanctions against Russia.
The Union has so far shown lukewarm support for Trump's controversial advice. The only EU countries confirmed as members of the peace council are Hungary and Bulgaria.
