Twice, the EU Court has struck down the EU's agreement on data transfer to the USA. But the third attempt is now approved after another review in the court.
"The USA has guaranteed a sufficient level of protection for personal data transferred from the EU", it says, among other things, in Wednesday's ruling on the latest agreed agreement from 2023.
The two previous agreements on the same theme were rejected in 2015 and 2020, respectively. In the third version, however, the EU has managed to negotiate strengthened protection to avoid the European data being used incorrectly.
