Three gang leaders in Haiti are to be stopped from entering the EU and have their possible EU assets frozen.

The sanctions against Micanor Altès, Christ-Roi Chéry and Jeff Larose from the gangs Wharf Jérémie, Ti Bwa and Canaan were adopted when the EU countries' foreign ministers met in Brussels on Tuesday.

"A dangerous crisis is only getting worse", notes the foreign chief Kaja Kallas in a press release.

At the same time, the sanctions against human rights abuses in Iran are also being extended, where eight individuals and one organization linked to the intelligence department are being placed on the EU's sanctions list.
