Sweden voted no when EU countries gave the green light on Wednesday to give Europe's car manufacturers more time to meet the requirements for the number of emission-free cars on the market.

When the EU Parliament voted on the L of the government parties voted as the government on Thursday.

Instead, the KD chose to vote yes, while M members abstained. The opposition was also divided with yes votes from the SD and C and no votes from the S, MP, and V.

Thursday's vote means that both EU countries and the EU Parliament have now said yes to the proposal. Thus, several car giants hope to avoid billion kronor fines for not doing enough in the area.
