EU adds sanctions against 19 more people, companies and organizations in Iran

"The EU will protect its interests and hold individuals accountable for domestic repression. This also sends a message to Tehran that Iran's future cannot be built on repression," writes EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on X.

Wednesday's decision was taken by the member states' ambassadors in Brussels. In total, there are now EU sanctions in the form of travel bans and asset freezes against more than 300 people, companies and organizations in Iran.
