The EU is accusing Tiktok, owned by China, of violating the rules of the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA) by not being transparent enough regarding advertising.

The Commission writes in a press release that on Thursday, Tiktok was informed of the EU's stance that the platform does not provide sufficient information about the content of ads, which users are the target group and who pays for the ad.

Tiktok is now given the opportunity to respond to the accusations and go through the material in the investigation that forms the basis for the EU's accusations.
