Diribe Welteji, second at the latest World Championship in Budapest 2023, was one of the favorites in this year's championship where the trials in 1,500 meters are decided at lunchtime on Saturday.
But the 23-year-old is not allowed to participate since she is suspected of violating anti-doping rules. It was in May that Welteji was reported because she had not been available for doping tests in Ethiopia.
She was questioned in August and the Ethiopian anti-doping organization then chose to acquit Welteji of the charges.
The International Athletics Federation (World Athletics) reported Welteji to Cas, which now suspends the running star during the investigation, writes the sports arbitration court in a press release.
