The transfer is permanent, according to people within the Estonian Defense Forces who spoke to the newspaper.
The country is also said to be expanding its long-range strike capabilities.
The measures are being taken in light of Russia’s escalating war in Ukraine and its hybrid attacks against European countries, particularly those in its geographical vicinity.
Estonian military and intelligence officials believe Moscow is preparing for a future conflict with Estonia - possibly a “small-scale” invasion to test NATO’s collective defense, the Financial Times reports.
