24-year-old Sebastiano Esposito, of Sassuolo, made his national team debut, while 21-year-old Pio Esposito, of Inter, made his 11th international appearance and scored his sixth international goal in the 4-1 win.
The Esposito brothers became the first to start in the same match since 1915, when Aldo and Luigi Cevenini scored all three goals in a 3-1 victory over Switzerland.
In addition, Sebastiano became the third Esposito brother to play for "gli Azzurri" when Salvatore Esposito, 25, made an appearance in 2022.
