Esbjerg's handball women had to spend the night at Munich's airport after a drone alarm. ”We got four hours of sleep”, says Swedish coach Tomas Axnér.

Despite poor sleep, Esbjerg managed to win the Champions League match against Hungarian Schaeffler (32–29).

"I am very proud of the team. It would have been easy to say that we were tired and could not do anything about the match, but no one wanted to go that way", says Axnér, who is also the national team captain for the Swedish women's national team, to Esbjerg's website.

In Esbjerg, Swedes Olivia Löfqvist, Elin Hansson and Nina Koppang play.

The Danish team was delayed and missed their flight to Debrecen. Then they did not have time to leave with a new flight to Hungary because Munich's airport closed down after a drone alarm. No one was allowed to leave the airport and all hotels were fully booked, so the handball players had to spend the night at the airport where they tried to get a few hours of sleep on benches and on the floor.
