Norwegian Conservative leader Erna Solberg criticizes former party colleague Børge Brende for his contacts with Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex crimes.
Brende has, among other roles, served as Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
"On behalf of Høyre, it is important for me to strongly distance myself from Børge Brende's extensive contacts with Jeffrey Epstein," the former prime minister wrote in a statement on Friday.
She continued: "What has come to light is reprehensible, and Brende should know better."
Solberg's accusation is reinforced by the fact that Brende has not been honest about the contacts in the past, despite direct questions from the media.
Brende holds a leading role at the World Economic Forum, and he is now being asked to answer questions about the contacts.
