The 25-year-old from Småland barely put a foot wrong in the Allsvenskan opener against reigning champions Mjällby. Hammarby won 3–0 and Victor Eriksson impressed, not least in the duels with Mjällby's target man Jacob Bergström.
It was fun to wrestle with him, Eriksson said.
The debut victory caps off a decent week for the centre-back. On Tuesday, he was on the bench when the national team secured a place in the World Cup with a 3–2 win over Poland at the National Arena in Solna.

But he is very cautious about hoping for a place in the World Cup squad or a Swedish championship gold medal.
I dream of both equally, but everything feels like a bonus. I focus mostly on doing well here and now.
