Xabi Alonso leaves Leverkusen to replace Carlo Ancelotti in Real Madrid.

It became the day before yesterday.

Leverkusen did not wait long to present Alonso's replacement. Erik ten Hag, fired by Manchester United last autumn, returns to the big football scene and exchanges Premier League for Bundesliga.

The 55-year-old Dutchman has written on a contract that stretches until the summer of 2027.

Bayer Leverkusen won both the league and the cup – without losing a match – last season. This season, the club came second behind Bayern München.
