Marcus Ericsson continues to chase his first Indycar victory since 2023, leading the race in Madison, Illinois, for 114 laps.

"It's tough to lead so many laps - I thought we were home on a few occasions - but Josef is the best in the business on these short ovals," he said after the race, according to the IndyCar website.

American Josef Newgarden had the lead for the last ten laps and was steadily more than half a second ahead of Ericsson.

"You really have to give Marcus a lot of credit. I thought he was incredibly strong. I don't think there was much that separated us, so it was about who could get position on the other, and that was what decided everything," said Newgarden.

Dane Christian Rasmussen finished third.

Felix Rosenqvist, who recently won the Indy 500, finished 14th.
