The reason is that Ericsson's car did not pass the technical inspection after the competition. The same applies to his teammate in the Andretti team.

The penalty means that the Swede goes from the third podium of his career to a 31st place. He won the classic competition in 2022 and finished second the following year.

His teammate Kirkwood becomes 32nd and Prema driver Callum Ilott, who also did not pass the technical inspection, becomes 33rd.

Ericsson's team is also fined a total of 200,000 dollars for both cars not passing the inspection.

The 34-year-old from Kumla drops in the overall standings from tenth to 20th place - and also loses the prize money for his second place.

More positive, however, is the news for another Swede, Felix Rosenqvist. He crossed the finish line as fifth but is now moved up to fourth place - something that matches his personal best when he finished in the same position in 2022.
