When the classic "Dangerous Liaisons" becomes a musical, Eric Gadd is responsible for the music.

It has been 19 years since Eric Gadd last composed the music for a production at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm. That was for the audience hit "The Jungle Book".

This time, the focus is on Choderlos de Laclos' epistolary novel "Dangerous Liaisons" from 1782. It became an acclaimed film starring Glenn Close and John Malkovich - and was performed as a play at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in 2006.

"I believe that even though this is unusual ground for me, people will recognize my style and my rhythm," says Eric Gadd in a press release.

This is the first time that "Dangerous Liaisons" has been staged as a musical. Casting will take place this year, but it is not yet clear when the premiere will be held.
