The intricate network surrounding convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein resembles a flowchart of power, money and celebrity where those involved revel in bullying, arrogance and platitudes. A large number of correspondences see the light of day when more than 20,000 documents are made public.

Epstein carefully cultivated the contacts that could benefit him, and many were caught in his embarrassing web, notes the American media company Politico, which has read several digital correspondence and lists them in bullet form. Here are some examples:

Director Woody Allen: Epstein often turned to various people for advice. He wanted to get a comment from Allen's wife - and actress Mia Farrow's adopted daughter - Soon-Yi Previn, who chose to campaign for Donald Trump during the 2016 election campaign. Previn responded about the Trump collaboration that "Woody says it doesn't matter."

Invitation to the island

Informal powerbroker Peter Thiel: The founder of Paypal has close ties to current US Vice President JD Vance. In a 2018 exchange of letters, the two discuss Thiel's relationship with Trump. Epstein complimented Thiel on his "Trump endorsements, no lies," later followed by "Dec(ember) visit me in the Caribbean." Epstein's private island near St. Thomas in the Caribbean was often visited by his friends.

Former White House legal counsel Kathryn Ruemmler: Ruemmler discussed the case against Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen, who testified against Trump in his trial over accounting violations related to payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels. Epstein wrote to Ruemmler: "You see, I know how dirty Donald is, my guess is that no lawyer or entertainment person has any idea what it means if your fixer changes sides."

“Like a clown”

Former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers: Summers and Epstein exchanged letters about, among other things, Saudi views on Trump: they see him “as a clown, increasingly dangerous when it comes to foreign policy,” Summers writes. Summers also comments on female intelligence in derogatory terms.

Trump's former confidant Steve Bannon: Epstein wanted to help Bannon with contacts in Europe; Epstein often boasted of his extensive network of contacts. "There are many leaders of countries with whom we can arrange one-on-one meetings," Epstein wrote.

Epstein also wanted to arrange a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to talk about Donald Trump's personality, writes Politico.
