According to Brosveet, 75-year-old Jagland is being treated in hospital as a result of the strain he is experiencing over revelations about his contacts with the deceased sex offender Epstein.
Norway's Economic Crimes Authority launched an investigation into suspected bribery in early February. The investigation concerns gifts, travel and vacations during Jagland's time as Secretary General of the Council of Europe, which he led from 2009 to 2019.
The Epstein documents mention, among other things, a family trip to Epstein's private island and that Epstein paid medical bills for Jagland in New York.
