The American Justice Department's request to disclose parts of the so-called Epstein documents is rejected, reports The Washington Post.

The decision was made by a federal judge in the state of Florida, where the investigation into the now deceased financier and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein was conducted.

In its request, the department, after pressure from President Donald Trump, demanded access to classified witness statements in the investigation into Epstein.

Judge Robin L. Rosenberg motivates the judgment by saying that a disclosure would violate the statutory secrecy of the grand jury.
