The electricity company Eon is increasing the electricity network fee by up to 5.2 percent from the turn of the year.

The increase varies “depending on geography and contract type,” according to a press release. It is motivated by the company’s intention to strengthen electricity networks across the country to meet increasing demand for electricity, more customers and more renewable electricity production.

"We are expanding and strengthening the electricity grid more than ever to meet demand from society and our customers. This is necessary to avoid becoming a bottleneck when Swedish households and companies want to change and cities want to grow," says Gustav Wengen, Customer and Marketing Manager at Eon, in the press release.
