After several years of decline – during the first half of the year, the number of new companies increased again, albeit moderately.

New entrepreneurship increased by 2 percent to 30,008 compared to the first half of 2024, according to the accounting firm Spiris whose figures are based on statistics from the Swedish Companies Registration Office.

"It's a long-awaited turnaround after several years of decline. We now see the first signs of cautious optimism among future entrepreneurs", says Boo Gunnarson, entrepreneur expert at Spiris, in a written comment.
