The entire island of Bornholm is without power on Wednesday. There is no fault with the submarine cable to the Danish island, but the cause is a technical fault at the electricity company Trefor.
The fault caused the cable to Sweden to be disconnected. The electricity company Energinet says in a press release that work to fix the fault is ongoing.
A total of 18,572 households are reported to be affected. Both Bornholm Airport and the shipping company Bornholmslinjen have announced that traffic is operating normally, Ritzau news agency reports.
