Norway, Norway, Norway, Norway, Norway, Norway, Norway... and Leo Johansson was the best Swede in 16th place. The 20 km mass start in classic style in Goms produced a result list most similar to that of the Norwegian championships for that distance.

Nothing unusual these days, but the fact that seven Norwegians took the top spots illustrates once again how tangible their dominance is.

As if things weren't bad enough for the Swedish team in the last World Cup competition before the Olympics, recently selected Calle Halfvarsson had a disastrous race.

He finished 56th, over six minutes behind the winner, Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, with Emil Iversen and Harald Østberg Amundsen closest behind him.

Klæbo won gold in all six distances at the 2025 World Championships and will be a big favorite at the Olympics in Val di Fiemme.
