She said before the outdoor premiere in Poland that she had a personal record in her. Engla Nilsson didn't disappoint. She raised her personal best in high jump to 1.93.
I hope for heights around my indoor personal best and I know I have it in me, said the 20-year-old before the competitions.
In Opole, Poland, she was the only one left to jump after having cleared 1.90. Then she raised the bar to 1.93. Which she cleared on her first attempt.
She also tried 1.95.
"I pushed too much in the approach, but the season is long so it's not impossible that it will come," she says to the Athletics Association.
Engla Nilsson broke through when she took the European Championship bronze medal indoors earlier this year, with 1.92.
