Ikea Industry in Älmhult will have to pay a corporate fine of 300,000 kronor after a workplace accident, local media reports.

In February this year, an employee got stuck with a hand in a grinding machine. The accident led to the employee suffering permanent injuries.

According to the prosecutor, the person responsible for the work environment had not sufficiently risk-assessed the work task. Among other things, there was no protection to prevent workers from coming into contact with the machine's moving parts.

The machine's emergency stop function had not been fully checked either.
