The woman was for several years the face of an organization that works to help abused women, men, and children. Now the woman is being convicted of having embezzled the organization's funds for personal use.
Between 2015 and 2023, the woman used the organization's funds for private purchases on 339 occasions. The woman bought goods worth more than 675,000 kronor, which is classified as gross embezzlement against the principal.
The woman is also being convicted of a serious fraud against the organization. Through a fabricated agreement on membership in a network for CEOs and forged signatures, the woman managed to swindle 15,000 kronor.
Helsingborg District Court is now sentencing the woman to one and a half years in prison for gross embezzlement against the principal, serious fraud, and fraud of a normal degree.
The verdict also means that the woman must repay approximately 800,000 kronor to the organization and the parish, writes Hem & Hyra.
