The crime is suspected to have occurred on Thursday, when a 75-year-old woman came to the hospital. She was forced to remove her jewelry, the prosecutor told Aftonbladet.
A few hours later, the woman reported the jewelry missing to the police, and later that day a man employed at the hospital was arrested.
The police have searched the man's home and seized items. However, the jewelry has not been recovered.
The employee was arrested on Sunday on probable-cause suspicion of aggravated theft. He denies the crime.
For several years, thefts of valuables from patients, many of them elderly, have been reported at Danderyd Hospital.
