It was during last month's WTA tournament in Dubai that a man in the stands scared Emma Raducanu. The man, who had previously behaved badly towards the Briton during the tournament, was completely "fixed" on her early in the match against Karolina Muchova.
I saw him during the first game of the match and thought "I don't know how I'm going to be able to play on", says Raducanu, who broke down and started crying.
The man was escorted out of the arena before the match could be completed and he is now banned from being near Raducanu.
It was very emotional. After the match, I broke down in tears, but not necessarily because I had lost, says the 22-year-old, who is playing in Indian Wells this week, her first tournament since Dubai.
In 2022, a court in London sentenced a man who had stalked Emma Raducanu to a five-year restraining order.
