In 2017, Emily Wilson became the first woman to translate Homer's "The Odyssey" from Greek into English. Her translation became a bestseller - and inspired Christopher Nolan when he came to make his film adaptation.

Now Wilson has decided to take on the work again, this time with a translation even closer to the original, reports The Guardian.

"I am translating The Odyssey from scratch, with the ambition to make a closer translation, as I did with "The Iliad", with more varied word length and a varied pace," Wilson tells the New York Times.

She emphasizes that it is a completely new translation, not a reworking of her previous one.
