Emil Holm missed this summer's World Cup due to injury. Holm was back in the national team for the Nations League opener this fall and got his chance from the start at home against Romania.
But after 63 minutes it ended. The 26-year-old was about to run but collapsed in pain. In the television broadcast he was heard screaming in pain while grabbing the back of his thigh.
"The idea was that he would play around 65 minutes. When you look at the situation, it doesn't look good," says head coach Graham Potter, continuing:
It's so frustrating. He's young and has time, but right now there's nothing I can say to make him feel better.
