Emil Forsberg scored both goals when New York RB defeated Toronto FC 2–1 in MLS football. The Swedish midfielder scored a penalty at the end of the first half. After Toronto equalized with 20 minutes left of the match, Forsberg decided with a quarter of an hour left.
Felipe Carballo set up Forsberg, who took advantage of a defender's hesitation, which cancelled out the offside, and then easily rolled the ball into the goal, one-on-one with the goalkeeper. It was Forsberg's eighth goal in the last eight matches.
The matches in MLS are being played despite the international break in the rest of the football world.
Emil Forsberg is missing from national team coach Jon Dahl Tomasson's latest squad and is thus missing the ongoing national team gathering. He therefore avoided being part of Saturday's loss to Luxembourg, 0–1.
