Swedish gaming giant Embracer let the axe fall in the business in 2023 as part of its comprehensive restructuring program. One of the game studios that received the news that they would be closed down was Danish Campfire Cabal, which is part of Embracer-owned THQ Nordic.
Now the studio is announcing that it is back, still under THQ's umbrella.
"We are finally ready to reveal that Campfire Cabal never closed down. Although we had to say goodbye to many of our colleagues, the studio survived and a compact group continued the project we started in 2022", the studio writes in a press release.
The studio tells that it is working on the next part of the tactical role-playing game series "Expeditions". The development office was founded in 2022 and is led by Jonas Wæver, who created the series at another company.
