Albin Olofsson has performed well during the European Championship in wrestling in Slovakian Bratislava, and had the chance on Saturday to win his first European Championship medal in the 77-kilo class in the European Championship.
It didn't turn out that way.
The Swede, who was tenth-seeded, lost the bronze match against the Turk Ahmet Yilmaz, fifth-seeded, with 7–0.
Olofsson stormed forward on Friday and took himself after three straight wins to the semifinal. However, it stopped there against the Georgian Ramaz Zoidze, a former World Championship bronze medalist, and also in the bronze match, Olofsson, representing AIK Wrestling, fell.
Correction: In an earlier version, Olofsson's last name was incorrectly stated.
