Wester finished last in her heat, but since the 12 fastest times advance, the Swede moves on to Thursday's semifinals anyway.
"When it's time, anything can happen. A little strange maybe, but it's fun," says Wester.
She ran a personal best of 52.28.

Wilma Svenson also advances to the semifinals in the 200 metres. The 23-year-old came second in her heat in 23.30, matching her personal best.
Of the 12 semi-finalists, Svenson was eighth.
