Ellos posts Q2 loss as sales rise nearly 6% in first report as listed company

Mail-order company Ellos, which was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange this summer, reported a pre-tax loss of SEK 19.5 million for the second quarter of this year. This compares with a profit of SEK 900,000 in the corresponding quarter last year.

Net sales rose by almost 6 percent to SEK 848.3 million and adjusted operating profit rose marginally to SEK 41.8 million, according to the company's first interim report as a listed company.

"We continue to invest in strategic categories and new customer acquisition, which increased marketing costs during the quarter. At the same time, these investments support our long-term strategy for profitable growth," Ellos writes in the report.
